Cats celebrate significant win

By Bransen Gibson

LBU is celebrating is second win of the season after a huge 27-goal victory over North Bendigo on Saturday.

It was a dominant display from the Cats as they ran away from the Bulldogs to claim victory 52-25.

The win is a huge result for the Cats who now have more wins this season than they did in the 2019 and 2021 seasons combined. LBU won just one game in 2019 and was winless in 2021.

A key goal for the Cats this season was to be competitive and they have certainly proved that so far this season with two wins and a couple of narrow losses.

LBU sits in sixth spot on the ladder, two wins outside the top four.

Elsewhere in the Heathcote District League, Leitchville Gunbower is still chasing its second win of the season after falling to undefeated top side Elmore 42-70. The Bombers beat Huntly in round two but have now lost four in a row.

In the other games across the league, second-placed White Hills was too good for Heathcote, winning 58-34. Colbinabbin also had a strong win, defeating Huntly 55-39.
