Echuca spoils Jetta’s show

By Josh Huntly edition of the Riverine Herald.

Echuca travelled to Tatura on Sunday to secure its sixth straight victory, but the Bulldogs had a surprise up their sleeve with a shock midweek addition to their squad.

Former All-Australian Melbourne defender Neville Jetta suited up for the Bulldogs in the Goulburn Valley League showdown, and the addition of the former AFL star seemed to spur on Tatura against the unbeaten Echuca.

Echuca started the match red-hot with four goals to Tatura’s four behinds, but the Bulldogs responded to draw within 10 points at half-time.

Echuca managed to skip away after the break, booting three goals to no score in the third, before doubling Tatura’s contribution in the last to claim a 46-point win, 13.11 (89) to 6.7 (43).
